“To me, fair friend, you never can be old,
For as you were when first your eye I eyed,
Such seems your beauty still…”
Poetry was meant to be read and enjoyed aloud. Its tradition is one of passing down stories, ideas and images into the world through our voice and body. Sonnets are one of the most well-known and rich of its many forms but they can also be a bit intimidating.
This class will help demystify sonnets for you.
What is a rhyme structure? Why does it matter? What does it all mean?
Learn how to read, make sense of, and perform sonnets in this fun and dynamic workshop.
No acting experience required!
It’s ok if you are not a native English speaker. We will have different options of sonnets to choose from so even if your English is not great you can fully join in.
