Screen Acting Series

Prices:

One workshop £33

Full series £125 for 5 workshops

In this workshop, we will use period dramas like Downton Abbey, Bridgerton & Mary Queen of Scots to learn how we can use our acting to show a different time and status than what we are used to.

You will learn:

How to show the difference in status

How to drink different beverages (tea vs. beer for example),

Speak in different accents (very posh vs. low class)

Suit your acting to different clothing (A 12-hour corset, anyone?)

Work with a partner on real scenes and get to play old archetypes (like Queen Elisabeth I or the soldiers in Macbeth), have a royal banquet and even a (Renaissance?) dance over zoom.

You’ll have a chance to nail your reactions on camera, show contrasting emotions, use props professionally and more…

You don’t need any acting experience or any knowledge of history.

All our workshops are suitable for complete beginners as well as more advanced performers.

You will get another perspective about your type cast and how to work with/ break from it as well as new tips on how to be an excellent and more believable actor on screen.

You will also do a lot of acting work, having a chance to work with scenes you didn’t get to try in this series (or re-do something you have done but with different, more challenging instructions).

The scenes performed in this session can be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel if you want so you can share your new skills with the world.

You don’t need any acting experience to take this workshop.
