Your (audiobook) story
You often think about narrating audiobooks.
You definitely listen to audiobooks, and you often have the thought: I can do that…
Sometimes even: I can do it better…
And then your natural storyteller wakes up. Hi :)
It’s excited about all the different stories that are waiting to be told.
But you know that talent isn’t enough.
And that your natural storyteller will need to learn things like where and how to breathe, keeping the pace, switching between character voices.

It’ll need to know the difference between genres and styles (you wouldn’t read a children’s book the same way you read a romantic fantasy, right?).
Not to mention equipment, recording systems, the casting process and more which will make it possible for you two to get narration jobs.
This course will train you as a reader and give you the knowledge you need.
So you (with your natural storyteller) can become a brilliant, working audiobook narrator.
In this training, you will:
-
Learn how to read well for different genres and book types, and discover which genres your voice and style are most suited for.
-
Learn systems and tricks that most people only learn through experience.
-
Explore characters - how to create, switch between and come back to the different voices in the book (and always keep your voice healthy)
-
Learn about auditions, the casting process and what you need to apply for jobs and then do them professionally.
-
Work in a small group with a lot of personal attention and feedback
This training is for you if:
-
You’re starting a new chapter in life (see what we did there?) and want to check if audiobooks can be a new career path for you.
-
You want your job to be something you actually love doing.
-
You have a great job but you need more creativity in your life.
-
You’re an actor/ voice-actor who is looking to expand your skillset
-
You wrote/ translated a book and you want to record the audio version of it.
-
You just want to learn something fun with a bunch of great people.
-
If you’re any of the above, your story can start here…
How we teach you to become an audiobook narrator

The training is online and live (not pre-recorded).
There will be 4 live 2-hour sessions where you’ll get personal feedback from the teacher and get to practice what you learn.
You will practice using scripts from different kinds of books and get live feedback on your reads
To get the most out of the course, you’ll be encouraged to practice between sessions. The more you experiment, refine, and listen to yourself, the more your voice and storytelling skills will grow, and it’s all part of the fun.
The live sessions will be recorded so you can catch up or re-watch any of the sessions (for a limited time)
Your teacher: Sandra Gayer

Hi, I'm Sandra
I’m a professional voiceover artist, audiobook narrator, classically trained soprano singer, stage and TV actor, and radio broadcast presenter.
I’ve recorded animations, commercials, explainers and radio, and I’ve narrated audiobooks available across multiple platforms, from Audible and Spotify to independent and open-access outlets.
As a blind performer, listening is at the core of how I work.
Audiobook narration demands great attention to rhythm, intention, breath, character and emotional truth, and that level of listening is something I live and work by every day.
In this four-week course, I’ll share the techniques, discipline and performance craft that will help you approach audiobook narration with clarity and confidence.
I can’t wait to start working with you :)
