The Problem with Emotions

and how to fix it.

You've been told your emotions need to come through. That the audience has to hear them, feel them, believe them.

So you've tried. You've told yourself "be scared" or "be excited" and read the script... and something felt a bit off. A bit forced. A bit over the top.

The truth is, focusing on emotions is really hard.

And when you're on your own with a script and no director to guide you, it can be just guessing.

In this workshop, I’ll show you a different approach.
One that makes your performances more natural, more convincing, and actually easier to do.

We'll do it together, through exercises, so you'll experience the difference and can use it next time you read a script.

Who it's for:

This workshop is for you if:

  • You've done voice acting training but still feel unsure how to approach a script

  • You know emotions matter, but trying to "perform" them isn't quite working for you

  • You're recording self-tapes on your own and not sure how to direct yourself

  • You want to be a better actor

No acting experience needed.

Just bring an open mind.

You'll learn

  • Why performing emotions is so hard, and why it doesn't always land the way you want it to

  • A different approach to scripts that gets you to a more natural, convincing performance

  • A practical technique you can take away and use every time you pick up a script

  • How to start directing yourself with more confidence
